Dubai Zoo, Zoo in Jumeirah, United Arab Emirates
Dubai Zoo is a zoological park in Jumeirah that houses more than 230 species, including Siberian tigers, Bengal tigers, Arabian wolves, and curved-horn antelopes. The enclosures are designed to replicate natural habitats and provide space for the animals to move around.
The park opened in 1967 and was among the first facilities of its kind on the Arabian Peninsula. Its establishment marked the beginning of organized wildlife protection efforts in the region.
The facility features traditional Arabian architectural elements throughout its buildings and educational displays about Middle Eastern wildlife preservation methods.
The zoo opens daily except Tuesdays from 10 AM to 6 PM, and admission costs 2 dirhams per person. Children under two enter for free.
The facility holds more than 400 reptile species and runs specialized breeding programs for endangered animals native to the Arabian Peninsula. These programs focus on species that have become rare in the wild.
