Al Tayer Tower, High-rise building on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Al Tayer Tower is a high-rise building with 59 floors along Sheikh Zayed Road featuring 244 residential units in varying layouts and sizes. The structure is complemented by an 11-story basement parking garage that provides adequate space for residents and visitors.
Construction started in spring 2006 and finished in 2009, with major cladding work beginning in September 2007. The project was designed by architecture firm Khatib and Alami and marks an important milestone in Dubai's building boom.
The tower is named after a prominent business family and reflects Dubai's shift from a trading hub to a modern city center. The building shapes the skyline with its contemporary design and forms part of the ongoing development that defines the Sheikh Zayed Road area.
The building sits directly on Sheikh Zayed Road, one of Dubai's main traffic corridors, ensuring good transportation connections. Visitors can easily find parking in the abundant garage spaces, and the central location makes it simple to reach other areas of the city.
The project required specialized wind engineering consultation from BMT Fluid Mechanics Ltd to ensure structural stability in Dubai's extreme desert conditions. This technical expertise was needed to address the challenges posed by the building's height and the region's climate.
