The Educational Trail connects multiple green spaces throughout Opava with informational boards explaining local flora and fauna along the way. The route passes through different sections, each showcasing various plant species and habitats.

The trail was created in 2008, linking four parks that ring Opava's centre: sady U Muzea, Smetanovy sady, sady Svobody and Dvořákovy sady. It runs 1 km between Dvořákovy sady and sady U Muzea and has 18 stops.

The trail's name is also given in full as the Naučná dendrologická stezka, "Poznáváme stromy městských parků v Opavě" (Getting to know the trees of Opava's city parks). Its 18 stops focus on valuable native and foreign woody species, and along the way visitors also pass an alpine garden, sculptures and small architectural features.
