Kendall Mill Historic District, Historic district in Camden, Kershaw County, United States

The Kendall Mill Historic District contains 119 buildings, including a four-story brick mill building with a six-story front stair tower and supervisors' houses.

Established in 1899, the Dekalb Cotton Mill marked the beginning of industrial growth in Camden, transforming the local economy through textile manufacturing.

The mill village reflects social structures of early 1900s industrial communities, with different housing types indicating the hierarchy among mill workers and supervisors.

The district spreads across 120 acres between railroad tracks and Lakeshore Drive, featuring Kendall Lake and a ten-acre landscaped park for public recreation.

The Romanesque Revival style mill building, designed by W.B. Smith Whaley, incorporates architectural elements that demonstrate industrial construction methods from 1899 to 1923.
