Kingston Mill Historic District

Kingston Mill Historic District is an industrial site along the Millstone River with about 16 buildings and several structures. The area includes an old mill, a bridge, farms, and residences that stand side by side.

The settlement started in 1683 as a tavern on an important trade route between two major cities. Over time, the place grew and many people settled there to work and live.

The buildings show different architectural styles from various periods of American history. Visitors can see how early settlers designed their houses and workshops.

The site sits next to a river route and can be visited year-round. There are paths and roads between the individual buildings that are easy to walk through.

A mile marker from 1798 stands at this location and shows old distances to other cities. This small marker reminds us of the time when travelers had to cover routes on foot.
