Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex, Sports complex in Vestavia Hills, United States
Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex is a sports venue in Vestavia Hills featuring four synthetic turf multi-purpose fields spread across approximately 11 acres. The facility includes elevated spectator areas with scoreboards, concession stands for refreshments, and public restrooms throughout the grounds.
The facility was built in 2011, transforming a former coal mining site into a modern sports venue. This conversion represents the change of an industrial area into a community recreational space.
The complex serves as the main home for the Vestavia Hills Soccer Club and hosts many youth sports programs throughout the year. Families and young athletes gather here regularly for training and competitions.
The venue is open from early morning until sunset and provides around 300 parking spaces at the site. Wheelchair-accessible pathways connect all spectator areas, making the location easy to navigate.
The northern section of the grounds includes an additional practice field for youth and an interactive splash pad for cooling off. This expansion was added later and shows how the venue adapted to growing community needs.
