Daniel Building, Office building in downtown Birmingham, United States
The Daniel Building reaches 238 feet in height with 20 floors and encompasses 318,000 square feet of office space in Birmingham's financial district.
Built in 1970, the Daniel Building served as headquarters for Daniel International's real estate division before Compass Bancshares acquired it in 1993.
The building features a sculpture of Hugh Daniel titled 'Altruistic Visionary', installed in 2008 through support from the Alabama-Mississippi Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Located at 15 South Twentieth Street, the Daniel Building includes a 390-space parking deck and access to an additional 644-space surface parking lot.
Engineers faced construction delays in 1967 while searching for solid bedrock between limestone cavities to establish the building's foundation caissons.
