Wayfarers State Park extends along the northeastern shore of Flathead Lake with mixed forest areas, rocky cliffs, and numerous wildflower patches throughout the grounds.
The establishment of Wayfarers State Park in 1969 marked a significant expansion of Montana's public recreational spaces, providing access to Flathead Lake's natural resources.
Montana residents demonstrate strong support for outdoor recreation through regular gatherings and community events organized within the park's natural environment.
The park maintains 30 campsites with bear-resistant storage lockers, coin-operated showers, and full ADA accessibility, operating from April through October.
The park features a specialized hike-bike campsite with nine tent pads specifically designed for cyclists traveling along the Continental Divide route.
