Located on the eastern shore of Flathead Lake, Yellow Bay State Park extends across 15 acres with a wide gravelly beach and direct lake access.
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks established this recreation area in 1941, making it part of the larger Flathead Lake State Park system.
The park exists within the Flathead Indian Reservation, requiring visitors to obtain joint state and tribal permits for fishing activities.
Five tent camping sites operate from May through September, with facilities including flush toilets, drinking water, and pedestal grills for charcoal use.
Yellow Bay State Park sits among Montana cherry orchards at 2,907 feet elevation, with Yellow Bay Creek flowing through the grounds.
