Great Bend Zoo

The Great Bend Zoo spans 30 acres and houses more than 300 animals from 70 different species, including lions, tigers, bears, and various birds.

Founded in 1952, the Great Bend Zoo has undergone numerous renovations and expansions to enhance its animal habitats and visitor facilities over seven decades.

The zoo serves as an educational center, offering programs that connect students and families with wildlife through guided tours and interactive learning experiences.

Operating seasonally from March through October, the zoo features paved pathways, picnic areas, a gift shop, and food options throughout the grounds.

The zoo maintains specialized conservation programs and collaborates with wildlife organizations to protect endangered species while educating visitors about environmental preservation.
