Charles Kuhn House, building in Indiana, United States

The Charles Kuhn House is a brick building in Indianapolis built around 1879 with two stories and five sections across its front. The structure displays the Italianate style with characteristic details including pressed metal brackets beneath the roof, tall narrow windows, and a central gable above a hipped roof.

The house was built in 1879 by local builders in the popular Italianate style of the time. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, ensuring its protection and recognition as a significant part of the city's architectural heritage.

The house is located on West Michigan Street, not far from downtown Indianapolis, and can be viewed from the exterior. The surrounding area has modernized, but this location makes it easy to see the building within its urban neighborhood context.

The pressed metal brackets beneath the roof are among the few remaining original details from the era, as such decorative elements were typical in late 19th century homes. These visible features offer a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship traditions of local builders from that period.
