The Indianapolis Masonic Temple stands as an eight-story Classical Revival structure built with Indiana limestone and features rows of Ionic columns.
Opening in May 1909, the temple replaced two previous Masonic halls, including one where Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech in September 1859.
The temple contains seven separate pipe organs and multiple lodge rooms dedicated to Masonic ceremonies, gatherings, and educational programs.
Located at 525 N. Illinois Street, the temple includes an auditorium, dining hall with catering kitchen, ballroom, and museum facilities.
During 1919, the temple demonstrated its high utilization by hosting 1,174 meetings and serving meals to over 41,000 people throughout the year.
