The Grover

The Grover is a three-story, I-shaped residential building on Pennsylvania Street with red brick walls and bay windows extending from the upper floors. The facade features recessed entrance areas and multiple bay window arrangements that break up the exterior wall surface on each level.

The building was constructed in 1914 as a residential structure designed by Arthur B. Grover. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The limestone arch above the entrance and the decorative frieze reflect early 20th-century design tastes in downtown residential buildings. These details shape the character of Pennsylvania Street and show how people valued crafted ornament in their homes.

The building sits on Pennsylvania Street in downtown Indianapolis and is easily accessible on foot. The location lies in an established residential neighborhood with good connections to other historic sites and main thoroughfares.
