Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church

The red brick church combines Late Gothic Revival and Romanesque architecture, featuring round-arched windows, a rose window, and buttresses with limestone caps.
The congregation constructed their first building in 1838, followed by a second church, before establishing this third structure between 1874 and 1887.
The interior space contains a central stained glass window depicting Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd, installed during the 1915 renovation phase.
The building at 701 North Pennsylvania Street now functions as The Sanctuary on Penn, serving as an event venue for various gatherings.
The church building contributed to the establishment of five additional Lutheran congregations in Indianapolis and hosted the 1920 Indiana Synod convention.
