Bomoseen State Park

Located across 3,526 acres, Bomoseen State Park extends through the towns of Castleton, Fair Haven, Hubbardton, and Benson with multiple ponds and lakes.

Martha Warren donated the initial 365 acres to establish the park in 1959, designating the land as a protected wildlife sanctuary without hunting permissions.

The park contains remnants and structures from the 19th-century slate industry and subsistence agriculture that shaped the regional development of Vermont.

The park provides two campgrounds with facilities for tents and RVs, equipped with flush toilets, showers, cooking areas, and direct access to water activities.

Five bodies of water lie within the park boundaries: Lake Bomoseen, Half Moon Pond, Said Pond, Moscow Pond, and Black Pond, each offering different recreation options.
