Mount Queets

Mount Queets rises to an elevation of 1,965 meters within Jefferson County, featuring the Queets Glacier on its northern slope and dense forest coverage.

The mountain received its current name from the Queets River, replacing earlier designations of Mt. Mesachie and Mt. Hearst on historical maps.

The mountain holds connections to the Quai'tso indigenous tribe, who maintained a long-standing presence in the Olympic Peninsula region.

Climbers can access Mount Queets through multiple routes, with the North Ridge offering a class 2 scramble and the Queets Glacier presenting class 4 challenges.

The mountain channels precipitation into both the Elwha River and Queets River systems, contributing to two separate watershed networks in Olympic National Park.
