Lambir Hills National Park

The national park spans 6,949 hectares of terrain with elevations ranging from 150 to 465 meters, containing more than 1,200 tree species across mixed forest landscapes.

Established in 1975, the park became a crucial research site in 1991 when international institutions created the Forest Dynamics Plot for documenting tree populations.

Local scientists and researchers maintain permanent study plots to monitor 237 bird species, 64 mammal species, and numerous plant varieties in their natural environment.

Located 32 kilometers from Miri city, the park features color-coded trails leading to waterfalls, with entrance fees of RM 20 for international visitors and RM 10 for Malaysians.

The forest contains tapang trees reaching heights of 80 meters, where wild honey bees construct their natural hives in the upper canopy.
