Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Seria, Roman Catholic church in Seria, Brunei

The Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception stands at the corner of Jalan Raja Isteri and Jalan Lorong 1 Barat in Seria, beside St. Michael's School. Its white walls, a reference to Mary's immaculate conception, are topped by an unusual hip and roof valley design; the altar carries a cross, and a large front yard with landscaping opens before the entrance.

Construction started in 1955 when Monseigneur Vos laid the cornerstone, and the building was officially opened in 1956. This marked an important moment for the growth of the Catholic community in Brunei during that era.

The church is the second of Brunei's three Roman Catholic churches, alongside St. John's in Kuala Belait and the Pro-Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Bandar Seri Begawan. It stands next to St. Michael's School, and the late Cardinal Cornelius Sim, the country's most prominent Catholic, was ordained a priest here on 26 November 1989.

The building is located on Jalan Lorong 1 Barat in Seria and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should attend services respectfully and check current schedules beforehand.

In January 1970, Brother Peter Tann became Brunei's first ordained priest at this location, marking a significant milestone in the nation's Catholic history. This event symbolized the growth and development of the local religious community.
