Jame 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, Religious landmark in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
The Jame Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque stands 58 meters tall with multiple domes, Italian marble floors, and minarets that define Bandar Seri Begawan skyline.
The construction of this religious building started in 1988 on a 20-acre site and reached completion in 1994 during Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah reign.
The mosque integrates Islamic architectural elements with local Bruneian design traditions through its decorative patterns, calligraphy, and structural features.
The religious complex accommodates 5,000 worshippers simultaneously and maintains a conference hall, administrative offices, and an extensive library of religious texts.
Each of the marble pillars in the prayer halls received individual attention with hand-carved geometric patterns and verses from religious texts.
