Gadong Night Market

Gadong Night Market is an open-air marketplace in the Gadong district with four rows of vendor stalls arranged on solid flooring. Covered walkways provide protection from tropical downpours for both visitors and sellers.

The marketplace underwent comprehensive modernization in 2017 with improved infrastructure and better facilities for vendors and visitors. These renovations transformed it into a contemporary trading facility.

Vendors here prepare traditional Bruneian dishes like nasi lemak and grilled meat wrapped in banana leaves, which visitors enjoy daily. The cooking methods follow family recipes passed down through generations.

The market opens daily from 4 PM to 11 PM and offers a wide range of prepared dishes, fresh produce, and traditional snacks. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and be ready to navigate narrow passages between stalls.

Many vendors specialize in tong keng, a local dish of grilled chicken tail with a distinctive taste. This specialized offering makes the market particularly interesting for street food enthusiasts.
