Seria Energy Lab

Seria Energy Lab is a science center in Brunei featuring four themed zones exploring oil and gas industries, advanced science concepts, marine ecosystems, and renewable energy innovations. The exhibition areas present information about local energy production and future technology trends.

The facility was established in 2002 as the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre, inaugurated by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah to highlight the importance of energy industries in Brunei. It was created as part of a broader national project focused on developing and modernizing the energy sector.

The facility organizes competitions and programs that encourage participation in science and technology fields, reflecting the local focus on developing technical talent in the region.

The center is well organized with distinct zones that appeal to different age groups and interests in science and technology. Visitors can explore hands-on displays and exhibits that help explain technical and scientific concepts in an accessible way.

The facility includes an aquarium displaying coral and marine life typically found beneath oil rigs in the South China Sea, showing how these ecosystems coexist with energy infrastructure. This exhibit offers a rarely seen perspective on the relationship between industrial operations and ocean environments.
