Tanjung Bungah

Tanjung Bungah is a residential area on the northern coast of Penang Island, situated near George Town, featuring apartment towers, shopping areas, and beach access. The neighborhood stretches along several kilometers of shoreline with a mix of dense residential developments and waterfront spaces.

The area developed from a small fishing settlement with Chinese and Malay residents in the 1950s into a modern residential district. During the 1980s, large-scale residential construction transformed the shoreline into a developed urban neighborhood.

The Floating Mosque serves as a focal point for the Muslim community and has become a recognizable landmark in the neighborhood. Locals and visitors alike notice this structure when passing through the area.

Beaches and water sports facilities are easily accessible through various public entry points, especially during warmer months. The area has good road conditions and parking available at shopping centers and waterfront areas.

The Water Sports Centre offers multiple activity options that extend beyond just serious water sports enthusiasts. Many visitors come to relax and watch boat activities and athletic events taking place along the water.
