City Park, Penang, Urban park in George Town, Malaysia
The 40-acre green space contains playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, reflexology paths, and an outdoor auditorium within a former granite quarry site.
The park opened in 1972 under Governor Syed Hassan Barakbah as a response to concerns about juvenile delinquency and the need for recreational spaces.
The park reflects Penang's multicultural identity through its design and facilities, encouraging community interaction among different ethnic groups in the region.
Visitors can access the park daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM through Persiaran Kuari, with facilities maintained by the Penang Island City Council.
Seven dedicated walls form the Penang Graffiti Park section, where artists freely express their creativity through street art since 2012.
