Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5, Industrial mining museum in Batu Gajah, Malaysia.

Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 is a large dredging ship that once extracted tin materials from water in Malaya and now rests on a floating dock. The vessel is over 75 meters long and 35 meters wide and retained its original machinery and processing equipment.

The ship was built in 1938 by F.W. Payne & Son in England and then extracted tin for 44 years before stopping work in 1982. It belongs to a series of vessels that revolutionized mining in the region and made Malaya a leading tin source worldwide.

The vessel shows how industrial mining methods shaped working life and Malaysia's economy in the 20th century. Visitors can see how workers operated large machines and what materials were extracted from the water.

The museum is located at the 9th kilometer of Jalan Tanjung Tualang in Batu Gajah and is open daily except Mondays. Visitors should allow time for walking and exploring the ship, as the visit covers several areas.

The ship is the last surviving tin dredge in Malaysia and offers a rare look at machinery that is no longer found anywhere else. Such large-scale mining equipment was usually scrapped after closure, making this vessel an exceptional surviving example.
