Estadio Parque Juan López, Sports stadium in Antofagasta, Chile

Estadio Parque Juan López stands on Calle Pedro Aguirre Cerda in Antofagasta, built as a recreational park for the local community. It holds a synthetic-turf football pitch plus basketball courts, with a physical capacity of about 4000 spectators. Three mecano stands, enlarged dressing rooms, referee and broadcast booths, and ticket offices were added in the 2011 works.

The facility was renovated in 2011 with modern improvements to meet professional football standards. It became an important alternative venue when other sports stadiums in the city were temporarily unavailable.

The ground began as a recreational park for the Antofagasta community, with basketball courts and a football pitch. Its name honours Juan López, and the site still serves neighbourhood sport rather than only professional fixtures. Deportes Antofagasta played here in Primera B, and in 2013 Cobreloa hosted Huachipato in a 3-3 draw while Calama's municipal stadium was demolished.

Visitors should note that professional matches limit spectator capacity to around 2200 seats due to safety regulations, though the venue is physically larger. Check current guidelines before attending, as these restrictions are strictly enforced.

The facility opened its professional operations with a match between two regional teams in August 2011. This debut event marked an important milestone for the city's sports infrastructure.
