Estadio La Caldera, Municipal football stadium in Caldera, Chile

Estadio La Caldera is a municipal football ground in Caldera, Atacama Region, Chile. It has an artificial pitch, four floodlight towers and two stands holding 1,500 spectators each.

The stadium opened in 2009 as a municipal facility for the local football community. It later became home to Club Deportes Copiapó after their original venue was damaged by natural disasters.

Club Deportes Copiapó, of Chile's Primera B, has played its home matches at La Caldera since 2015, when flooding and a mudslide left the Luis Valenzuela Hermosilla stadium in Copiapó unusable. The club had already moved here once before, in 2010, while its own ground was being remodelled. Local supporters therefore follow a team based in another city.

The stadium is located at the corner of Avenida Carvallo and Gabriela Mistral, making it easy to find. Be aware that its coastal position means weather can be windy and cool, particularly in the evening hours.

The venue sits so close to the Pacific Ocean that ocean air reaches the stands during matches. This proximity to the sea makes it one of the westernmost professional football grounds on the continent.
