Nasca Province, Administrative province in Ica Department, Peru
The Nasca Province spans over 5,234 square kilometers of desert terrain and contains five districts: Changuillo, El Ingenio, Marcona, Nazca, and Vista Alegre.
The region gained prominence between 100 BC and 800 AD when the Nazca civilization constructed their massive ground drawings and developed advanced irrigation systems.
The province maintains numerous archaeological museums displaying ceramics, textiles, and artifacts that demonstrate the technical skills of pre-Columbian societies.
Visitors reach the province via the Pan-American Highway, with most accommodation options concentrated in Nazca city, the provincial capital.
The province contains the Cantalloc Aqueducts, an underground water system built by ancient civilizations that continues to function in the present day.
