Yas Mall, Shopping mall in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Yas Mall is a shopping mall on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It has a curved facade with a glass entrance, illuminated signs in English and Arabic, and a grid of recessed lights above, while inside it is arranged in a series of streets, avenues, boulevards, and squares with a naturally lit central gathering space.
Construction began in 2011 and the mall opened in November 2014 to coincide with the Formula One Grand Prix season finale at Yas Marina Circuit. It was developed by Aldar Properties and designed by CallisonRTKL, with Six Construct as the lead contractor.
The mall's name appears in both English and Arabic on its facade, reflecting the bilingual character of the United Arab Emirates. Inside, the Town Centre serves as a social hub with an indoor courtyard surrounded by trees, restaurants, and a shallow pool, where families gather and children play.
The mall is easy to reach by car from Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road, and it is about 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport. It is spread over three levels, so wear comfortable shoes and plan your visit to avoid the busiest times in the evening and on weekends.
The mall is home to CLYMB Abu Dhabi, which has the world's longest indoor skydiving flight chamber and the world's tallest indoor climbing wall, certified by Guinness World Records. It also received a gold certificate from the World Union for the Blind in 2021 for its accessibility features.
