Flying Aces, Steel roller coaster at Ferrari World, United Arab Emirates
Flying Aces is a steel roller coaster at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi featuring a 63-meter-high track with a steep 51-degree incline. The ride reaches speeds of 120 kilometers per hour and takes passengers through multiple loops and turns.
The ride opened in February 2016 and honors Francesco Baracca, an Italian military pilot who inspired Ferrari's prancing horse logo. The pilot's legacy from World War I remains connected to the brand and its racing history.
The queue displays World War I aviation history through recreations of military hangars and training areas with projected aircraft images. Visitors walk through these themed spaces and experience how pilots trained during that era.
Visitors must be between 130 and 196 centimeters tall to ride, as this meets safety requirements for the attraction. The coaster holds 28 passengers per ride, arranged in seven rows of four seats each.
The ride starts with a cable lift system that pulls trains up a 63-meter incline before entering the world's tallest roller coaster loop at 52 meters. This feature makes it one of the most notable constructions of its kind.
