Osorno Province

The province spans 9,223 square kilometers across seven municipalities, with Osorno city serving as its administrative center in northern Patagonia.

The territory was originally inhabited by Huilliche people before Spanish colonization, followed by German settlement programs initiated by the Chilean government in 1850.

The province maintains influences from three distinct groups: indigenous Huilliche communities, Spanish colonial settlers, and nineteenth-century German immigrants.

The Cardenal Antonio Samoré Pass connects the province to Argentina through Villa La Angostura, providing a strategic transportation route between both countries.

The agricultural sector of the province specializes in dairy and meat production, earning the region recognition as Chile's primary milk and meat producing territory.
