Pichi-Ropulli

Pichi-Ropulli is a village in Chile's Central Valley near the Coast Range, situated at approximately 90 meters above sea level. It contains over 260 houses and is home to around 1500 residents.

The railway station opened here in April 1897 as part of the Valdivia-Osorno railway section, marking a key moment in regional transportation development. This rail connection brought growth and fundamentally changed the local economy.

The annual Semana Pichi-Ropullana brings residents and former inhabitants together for local competitions and community celebrations throughout the village. This event shows how much community ties matter to people living here.

The village is easy to reach and has basic facilities for visitors wanting to explore rural life. The best time to visit is during the warmer months, when weather suits outdoor activities well.

The former railway station building was converted into a private residence, preserving memories of the rail era. The neighboring warehouse area now serves as Plaza Estación de Pichirropulli, functioning as a public gathering space for the community.
