The railway station of Pichi-Ropulli opened in April 1897 as part of the Valdivia-Osorno railway section, marking a period of regional transportation development.
The annual Semana Pichi-Ropullana gathers residents and former inhabitants for local competitions and community celebrations throughout the village.
The village contains over 260 houses with approximately 1500 residents and operates on Chilean Standard Time UTC-04:00 during winter months.
The former railway station building has transformed into a private residence, while its warehouse area becomes Plaza Estación de Pichirropulli for community use.
