The Santa Carolina winery complex includes three U-shaped buildings and an underground cellar built with adobe, wood, and traditional Chilean tiles.
Luis Pereyra Cotapos established the Santa Carolina winery in 1875, naming it after his wife Carolina Iñiguez and commissioning French architect Emile Doyère.
The winery maintains traditional winemaking methods in its underground cellar, where stone walls and brick vaults create optimal conditions for wine aging.
Visitors can participate in guided tours of the facilities, exploring the neoclassical architecture and learning about wine production techniques.
The underground cellar features barrel-vaulted brick ceilings and carved stone walls, maintaining consistent temperatures for wine maturation throughout the year.
