Palacio Vásquez, Historical monument in Macul, Chile
The three-story neocolonial palace stands at the intersection of Los Plátanos and Avenida Macul, featuring red ornamental motifs against white walls.
Built in 1931 by Fermín Vásquez Menéndez, the palace received its status as a National Monument of Chile in 2009 through decree law No. 148.
The architectural design incorporates elements from León, Spain, including a baroque entrance portico and a colonial balcony on the second floor.
The Municipality of Macul purchased the property in 1985 and renovated it to house municipal offices, including the mayor's workspace and city council meeting rooms.
The fifth-level observation point provides winter views of the snow-covered mountain landscape while maintaining its original neocolonial architectural features.
