Casa Central de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile

The Casa Central building features grand columns, symmetrical proportions, and a monumental facade extending across an entire city block in central Santiago.

The construction of this neoclassical building started in 1910 with Italian architect Ignacio Cremonesi's design and was completed in 1917 under Emile Jecquier's supervision.

The building houses multiple academic faculties including Medicine, Law, Biological Sciences, and Communications, serving as a center for higher education in Chile.

The main entrance leads to spacious courtyards and corridors that connect different sections, with administrative offices located on the upper floors.

A 5-meter-tall statue of the Sacred Heart stands on top of the building's facade, installed in 1935 following the restoration after a major fire.
