Posada del Corregidor, Colonial building in Santiago, Chile
The two-story rectangular structure features a prominent wooden balcony supported by carved corbels and walls constructed from traditional adobe materials.
Built in the mid-18th century, the building initially served as an inn for travelers crossing the Mapocho River before becoming La Filarmónica ballroom in 1830.
The building housed the Sociedad de Amigos del Arte from 1930 to 1980, where writers Vicente Huidobro and Pablo Neruda gathered for intellectual discussions.
The Municipality of Santiago manages this open gallery space located at the intersection of Corregidor Zañartu street and Esmeralda street.
The corner entrance incorporates a stone column between two rustic wooden doors, exemplifying the architectural elements of colonial Santiago.
