Chivay District

Chivay District is an administrative area in Caylloma Province, Arequipa Region, situated at roughly 3,600 meters elevation. The mountainous territory serves as the main entrance point to notable natural attractions in the region.

The area emerged as a key administrative center in Caylloma Province and grew in importance through the twentieth century. Its role expanded as regional infrastructure developed and connections to larger settlements improved.
