Canas Province, Administrative province in Cuzco Region, Peru.
Canas Province spans over 2,103 square kilometers of mountainous terrain, containing eight districts with Yanaoca serving as its administrative capital.
The province formed part of the Viceroyalty of Peru within the Intendancy of Cuzco from 1784 until Peru's independence in 1824.
The population maintains strong Quechua traditions, with over 91 percent of residents communicating primarily in the Quechua language across the province.
Visitors can reach all eight district capitals through a network of regional roads that connect to the main highway running through Cuzco Department.
The La Raya mountain range crosses through the province, featuring peaks such as Anka Suka and Aqu Saya at high Andean elevations.
