Playa San Lorenzo

Playa San Lorenzo is a coastal stretch in Manabí Province with clear waters bordered by rock formations and high cliffs. The beach extends for several kilometers along the Pacific Ocean with natural surroundings that change as you move along the shore.

The lighthouse at San Lorenzo Cape became a key navigation point for ships traveling along Ecuador's Pacific coast in the early 20th century. The cape played a role in the region's maritime history and development.

Local fishermen practice traditional catch methods in Las Piñas, a small settlement near the beach where visitors can buy fresh seafood directly. The village reflects how people here have lived from the sea for generations.

The water maintains comfortable temperatures throughout the year, and the beach is easily reached from nearby Manta. Visitors should prepare for strong sun exposure and plan visits for morning or late afternoon hours.

A protected ecological reserve nearby shelters thorny shrubs, specialized trees, and orchids found only in this region. The area allows visitors to explore both coastal and dry forest ecosystems in one place.
