Parc national naturel du Río Puré

The Rio Pure National Natural Park extends across 999,880 hectares between the Caquetá and Putumayo rivers in the Colombian Amazon rainforest.

The Colombian Ministry of Environment established Rio Pure National Natural Park in August 2002 to safeguard the territory and natural resources of the region.

The park serves as a sanctuary for indigenous Yuri and Passe communities who maintain voluntary isolation from modern civilization in the Amazon rainforest.

The park remains closed to tourism and requires special permits for scientific research to protect the indigenous communities living within its boundaries.

The territory contains multiple navigable micro-basins and features the La Pedrera formation, which rises 340 meters above the surrounding landscape.
