Parc national naturel du Río Puré

Rio Pure National Natural Park is a large protected area in the Colombian Amazon stretching between the Caquetá and Putumayo rivers. The territory contains multiple small river basins and dense rainforest vegetation throughout its expanse.

The Colombian government established this protected area in 2002 to safeguard the region and preserve its natural resources. The creation aimed to protect the rainforest and the communities living within it.

The park is home to the Yuri and Passe peoples, who choose to live in voluntary isolation and maintain their traditions within the rainforest without outside contact.

The park is closed to visitors and only allows scientific research with special permits to protect the communities within. The entire area is restricted and cannot be accessed by tourists.

The territory features the La Pedrera formation, a distinctive rock outcrop that rises noticeably from the surrounding landscape. This geological feature stands out as a defining characteristic of the park's topography.
