Abasto de Buenos Aires, Shopping center in Balvanera, Argentina

Abasto de Buenos Aires is a four-story shopping center in Balvanera that houses more than 170 stores featuring local and international brands. The complex connects different levels and sections to create a comprehensive shopping experience.

The building served as Buenos Aires' central produce market from 1893 until 1984. It was then converted into a modern shopping center in 1998 and renamed after its original market function.

The building carries the name of its former market identity, and the neighborhood remains connected to tango singer Carlos Gardel, who lived nearby. Visitors can sense this musical heritage throughout the area, which continues to reflect this artistic legacy.

The center connects directly to Carlos Gardel metro station on line B and offers parking for about 1,200 vehicles. Public transportation access is straightforward, and on-site parking is convenient for visitors arriving by car.

The building houses an educational children's museum where young visitors can try different professions in a miniature city. This interactive experience is integrated within the shopping center and offers a different way to spend time there.
