Museum of Architecture and Design

The Museum of Architecture and Design occupies a former water tower from the Retiro railway complex, offering more than 250 square meters of exhibition space. The venue displays contemporary and historical exhibitions focused on architecture and urban development.

The Central Architects' Association founded this institution in 2000, converting a 1915 railway building into a cultural venue. The transformation demonstrated how industrial structures from the early 1900s could serve new purposes.

The museum showcases rotating displays about architecture and urban change, revealing how Buenos Aires has transformed over time. Interactive presentations here help visitors understand Argentine building styles and design movements.

The museum is open afternoons and evenings Tuesday through Sunday, making it convenient for after-work or weekend visits. The entrance is easy to locate, situated directly on Libertador Avenue and accessible by public transportation.

The building features sliding metal partitions that can be adjusted to suit different exhibition layouts and themes. A sculpture garden along Libertador Avenue connects the interior space with the city outside.
