Edificio Sudamérica, Modern architectural complex in Retiro district, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The structure consists of two independent volumes reaching heights of 47 and 97 meters, featuring a curved facade facing Avenida 9 de Julio.
Architect Arturo Dubourg designed this building in 1956, marking the first approved horizontal property tower by the Municipality of Buenos Aires in 1957.
The building represents a shift in Buenos Aires residential architecture, combining modernist principles with high-end living spaces in the aristocratic neighborhood.
The complex contains thirteen full-floor apartments in the lower building and four units per floor in the main tower, served by multiple elevators.
The structure incorporates an innovative radiant floor heating system and a central clothes drying system using steam-heated metal pipes.
