French Embassy, Buenos Aires, Diplomatic building near Avenida 9 de Julio, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Palacio Ortiz Basualdo is a private mansion featuring French Neoclassical architecture near Avenida 9 de Julio. The building showcases grand staircases, ornate moldings, and marble floors throughout its interior spaces.

The building was completed in 1912 as a private residence for Daniel Ortiz Basualdo. It became the French Embassy in 1939 and later played a role in the city's development and infrastructure planning.

The building serves as a center for French art exhibitions and cultural programs that connect Buenos Aires with France. Visitors can experience the active diplomatic presence here, where exhibitions and events regularly take place throughout the year.

The building is located at the intersection of Arroyo Street and Avenida 9 de Julio in an easily accessible area. Multiple bus stops and hotels are nearby, making it straightforward to reach the location.

In the 1970s, authorities planned to demolish part of the building for road construction. The French government's opposition led to a change in the avenue's planned route instead.
