Edificio Prourban

Torre Prourban is a cylindrical high-rise in the Retiro district that stands 107 meters tall at Avenida del Libertador 498. The structure contains 27 office floors with three basement parking levels and encompasses roughly 31,400 square meters of total space.

The tower was built between 1979 and 1983, a period when Avenida 9 de Julio was reaching completion. This construction marked an important phase in Buenos Aires' urban transformation during the early 1980s.

The building earned the nickname 'El Rulero' from its cylindrical shape, which resembles a hair roller used in styling. This playful name shows how locals have embraced the distinctive form as part of the neighborhood's character.

The tower sits on Avenida del Libertador, making it simple to locate along one of the city's main thoroughfares. The surroundings offer adequate space to view the building's distinctive shape from the street level without obstacles.

The building's central core design was specifically planned to flood office areas with natural light through uniformly distributed windows. This feature demonstrates how the cylindrical form serves both aesthetic and practical purposes for internal work environments.
