Paseo del Bosque

Paseo del Bosque is an expansive urban park with walking paths throughout its grounds, a man-made lake, and groves of poplars, oaks, willows, and eucalyptus trees. The space also contains a Natural Science Museum, an Astronomical Observatory, and a Zoo with multiple sections for visitors to explore.

Established in 1882 before La Plata itself was founded, the park arose from the former marshlands of the Martín Iraola estate. This early creation made it one of the city's first public green spaces as the urban area developed around it.

The Martín Fierro amphitheater presents theater, dance, and music performances in the open air, making the park a gathering place for the city's cultural events. Locals and visitors use this outdoor venue as a natural extension of the city's artistic life.

The park features several museums and an observatory where visitors can take guided tours and view interactive exhibits. Plan to spend time exploring the different areas, and wear comfortable shoes since the grounds are extensive and walking is necessary to see everything.

The Garden of Peace was relocated here from Teatro Argentino in 1982 and stands as a symbol of community ties to this location. This smaller garden offers a quiet corner distinct from the park's larger open areas.
