The La Plata Planetarium features a 17-meter diameter dome that displays digital projections in 4K resolution across its spherical surface for astronomical presentations.
The planetarium construction started in 2010 after architect Gustavo Azpiazu consolidated multiple design concepts, leading to its official opening in June 2013.

Visitors can attend shows on weekends and holidays from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with special accommodations for hearing-impaired individuals through magnetic loop technology.
