Pasarela de la Amistad

The crossing consists of two parallel pedestrian bridges spanning 72 meters across the southern branch of the Pilcomayo River.

The Chamber of Commerce of Clorinda initiated the construction of the first wooden bridge during the 1960s to establish direct connectivity between both towns.

The footbridge enables Argentine and Paraguayan border communities to maintain strong social connections through regular interactions and shared activities.

Multiple government checkpoints along the bridge monitor the movement of people and goods between Argentina and Paraguay during operational hours.

Two distinct structures form the crossing: an original wooden plank bridge and a newer reinforced concrete bridge built in 2004.
