Pasarela de la Amistad, International footbridge between Clorinda, Argentina and Nanawa, Paraguay.

The Pasarela de la Amistad connects Clorinda in Argentina with Nanawa in Paraguay and consists of two parallel pedestrian walkways spanning the Pilcomayo River. The overall structure measures approximately 72 meters in length and allows people to cross between the two shores on foot.

The first wooden bridge was built by the Clorinda Chamber of Commerce in the 1960s to establish direct connection between the two towns. A newer concrete structure was later added to expand upon the original crossing.

The footbridge connects two border communities whose residents cross daily to visit family or shop on either side. Each town has developed its own markets and shops that depend on visitors from across the bridge.

The crossing has multiple checkpoints where officials monitor the flow of people and goods between the countries. Plan for some wait time and check operational hours in advance, as these can vary.

The structure comprises two distinct sections: an original wooden plank bridge and a reinforced concrete bridge erected in 2004. This dual construction reflects how the crossing has had to adapt to growing demand over the years.
