Museu Willy Zumblick

The Willy Zumblick Museum in Tubarão preserves the body of work left by a local painter who worked across different artistic genres. The collection brings together paintings, sculptures, and a series of trophies, medals, and certificates that document his long career.

The museum space was founded in 2000 and honors a painter born in Tubarão in 1913. A German-descended artist named Frederick Wilhelm Lobe influenced his artistic development.

The collection shows works depicting regional folklore, landscapes, and still life subjects that reveal how the artist saw his surroundings. You can also find traditional Brazilian figurehead carvings and caricatures throughout the galleries that capture local stories and everyday moments.

The museum is located in Tubarão's Cultural Center and is open on weekdays. Visiting is free of charge and gives you a good look at the region's art history.

The display includes the original tools and materials the painter used while working. What stands out is that he started his career as a teenager by designing movie posters.
