Khadro Ling Buddhist Temple

This temple sits atop a mountain in Três Coroas and combines Tibetan architectural style with functional spaces for meditation and study. The complex includes prayer wheels, Buddha statues, ceremonial halls, and a library available for visitors to explore.

A Tibetan teacher named Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche established this place in 1995 as a center for Vajrayana Buddhist practice in South America. This founding created the first major headquarters of this Buddhist tradition in the region.

The temple walls feature paintings depicting scenes from Buddha's life, and visitors regularly place water bowls on the main altar as an offering practice. This daily ritual shows how local people express their devotion in simple, tangible ways.

Visitors can walk through most areas, but it is best to explore outside of regular ceremonies and gatherings. Access to the mountain location means the site is more accessible during dry periods when paths are easier to navigate.

A dedicated garden holds 21 stone statues representing Tara, a female Buddha figure honored for offering swift aid and removing obstacles in local practice. Many visitors overlook this quieter section, even though it offers a peaceful spot for reflection.
